# Latex figure caption position

The table environment is an example of a float. They can have a caption describing them. Default is [tbp]. I found the tutorial very helpful, but The caption used for each figure will appear in these lists, along with the figure numbers, and page numbers that they appear on. We often need to center figures, particularly in presentations. They are numbered so we can add references to them.

I am aware that this has been solved, however, I thought I would contribute what I use to address this problem. However these definitions have limited effect on newly created float environments with the wrapfig package. LaTeX manages the floats for you, and, on the other hand, gives very powerful means to control crossed references. Adding dummy lines as suggested by Jack Aidley didn't help either : Please let me know if you have any other advice for the vertical alignment issue. However, just having a picture stuck in between paragraphs does not look professional. If the label picks up the section or list number instead of the figure number, put the label inside the caption to ensure correct numbering.

Description: To change the appearance of captions, use the caption [7] package. Just what I was looking for. I found this much the best method. You will notice that the figure environment is set up as usual.
